In the Community

Philanthropy is one of the foundations of Iota Beta Chi values. Therefore we are very active throughout the year with many different philanthropic events.  Many of our events are annual; others are created and planned during the year, by the active Chapters, to fulfill the chapters ideals and meet the needs of the sisters and our community. We work a lot with food banks, foundations for children, women's shelters, women's organizations and much more. Here is just a few of our yearly activities!

Trick or Eat

Every year since 1998, the Alpha Chapter has dressed-up and headed into the community to collect food for Parker Street Food Bank.  Each year we team up with one of the local Fraternities to assist us in our task to fill the shelves.

Operation Beautiful

Iota Beta Chi participates in Operation Beautiful twice a year.  However, it is a part of our philosophy!
The mission of Operation Beautiful is to post anonymous notes in public places for other people to find. The point is that WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL. You are enough... just the way you are!

Run for the Cure

Each year Sisters from both chapters participate in the Run for the Cure to raise money for Breast Cancer research.

Sole Sisters

Every year sisters from Halifax Alumnae chapter participate in the Sole Sisters Race. This race raises money for many organizations including Girls Gone Gazelle, which is a running program for young girls to promote body acceptance, self confidence, and socialization among peers.

Take Back the Night
